DAVERAGE Excel

In the following example, we will explore the concept of the DAVERAGE Excel function to achieve a specific result.

To start with, select cell F2 and enter the formula,
=DAVERAGE(A1:C6, “Quantity”, E1:E2).

Press Enter key. We can see the result in cell F2.

The AVERAGE function calculates the average or mean of a range of numbers, providing a simple way to determine the central value. On the other hand, the DAVERAGE function is specifically designed for database analysis and allows users to calculate an average based on specific criteria or conditions.

It requires three arguments: a database range, field criteria, and query criteria, allowing users to filter data efficiently for more precise calculations. This makes it particularly useful when dealing with large datasets where you need to focus on specific subsets for analysis.
